NOTD - Models Own HedKandi Ibiza Mix

Good Morning Lovelies!

Ever since I laid eyes on the new Models Own HedKandi Collection I knew it had to be mine especially the "Ibiza Mix" glitter!

So for today's manicure I firstly applied two coats of China Glaze's "Liquid Leather" black glossy creme. Once that had dried I applied one thick coat of Models Own "Ibiza Mix" a clear based polish packed full of medium turquoise, gold, pink/purple and orange hexagon glitter and small blue, gold and pink hexagon glitters. The polish is very densely packed and is very much like OPI's Rainbow Connection but in my opinion the colour combination of Ibiza Mix is a lot prettier! I think this glitter could be opaque in three thick coats. I topped with two coats of top coat.

Ibiza Mix is just such a gorgeous glitter polish I think I'm going to need a back-up as I think this will be great for jelly sandwiches! The only downside of this polish is that I found the scent very strong and overpowering!!!

Such a great summery glitter that would look great topped over pastels, nudes and deep colours!

The new HedKandi Collection will be available on Models Own website from 10th April and is currently available in Boots £5 each but there is a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment!

Nail Mail and Mini Nail Haul

Hello Lovelies!

Today I bring to you the past week's nail mail and mini nail haul from yesterday!

First up is a swap received from the lovely Alyssa C who is part of the Birthday Club I am in. I asked her to send to me OPI's "Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em" and "Big Hair...Big Nails" and Zoya's "Penelope". The two OPI's are from last year's Texas Collection and are jelly polishes - being the huge fan of jellies that I am I have no idea why it has taken me so long to add these to my stash! They look gorgeous! Zoya Penelope is a dusty rose pink and too looks gorgeous! Thank you Alyssa!

Secondly, I received a swap from Christine who I arranged a swap with through PAA. I asked Christine to send to me Zoya's "Maisie" and "Chloe", OPI's "Metallic for Life", China Glaze's "Foie Gras", "Dress Me Up" and "Electrify" and she also kindly included an extra Sinful Colors "Green Ocean". I absolutely love all three flakies and cannot wait to give them a whirl! The OPI is the only one I liked from the Nicki Minaj Collection and the China Glaze's were the ones I wanted most from the new Hunger Games Collection 2012. Thank you so much Christine really looking forward to our next swap!

Yay! My Dollish Polish polishes from Etsy arrived today! I ordered "Welcome to Rapture" and Hip Hop Hippity Hop" (the new formula) and they both look so gorgeous I cannot wait to try them out! I also ordered a China Glaze "Liquid Crystal" from the new Prismatics Collection and am due to receive some more in a swap very soon! I can't wait to see what the other Prismatics are like as this one looks stunning!

A few purchases ... Orly's "Passionfruit" a super bright neon pink I ordered from www.cheapsmells.co.uk for £2.99 (including free delivery). I thought this was a bargain the bottle is a huge 18ml! This arrived today! Also "Gelous" which Miagi from the Birthday Club kindly purchased on my behalf as I wanted it to even out my glitter polishes. Thank you so much Miagi! Yesterday, I purchased GOSH's "Metallic Purple" this looks just wow!!! I cannot wait to get stamping with this!

And last but not least ... I had been lusting after the new Models Own Hed Kandi Collection since I laid eyes on them! Finally, I phoned a Boots store yesterday and they confirmed they had them in - I was so excited! From the collection I purchased "Disco Heaven", "Hedonist" and "Ibiza Mix" - the glitters look gorgeous and I will be swatching Ibiza Mix tomorrow so be sure to look back then! I purchased them from Boots and they are £5 each but on offer at the moment 3 for 2! "Hedonist" is a beautiful bright neon coral/orange - I am really loving neons at the moment so expect to see a lot of neon nail of the days! This is my recent colour kick! I will definitely be buying up the rest of the Hed Kandi Collection too!

What do you think? Any preferences what you would like to see my swatch out of this bunch? x

NOTD - China Glaze Dress Me Up

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am wearing China Glaze's "Dress Me Up" from the new Hunger Games Collection 2012. I heard about these polishes a while ago and must admit I had never heard of the Hinger Games but since then have heard so much about it and the movie has just come out at the cinema so I really want to go see it and read the books!

The lovely Christine from PAA sent a bunch of the CG polishes to me in a recent swap and this was the first I tried out! Thank you Christine! X

Anyways, Dress Me Up is a dusty rose creme and as most of you regular followers will already know I am a huge fan of dusty Rose colours!!! The formula was an absolute dream and so very almost opaque at just one coat but I used two and the colour changed slightly and definitely looked better with two! I absolutely love it! A great "work appropriate" shade and an all round fab polish!

NOTD - Nails Inc Sumner Place

Hey Lovelies!

Today I am wearing Nails Inc's "Sumner Place". Sumner Place is a pastel yellow creme polish. The formula was good and took just two coats for full opacity.

Sumner Place is a very pretty spring pastel but unfortunately I don't really like yellow on my nails and so not sure if I would get enough wear out of it. I think it would look better with a tan!

NOTD - Sally Hansen Delphinium

Morning Lovelies!

Today I am wearing Sally Hansen's Salon Manicure "Delphinium". Delphinium is a pale pastel lilac creme. This was my first time using Sally Hansen Salon Manicure and it was nice to see a thick brush that was flat and rounded at the end and I found really easy to use. The formula was very good and took just two coats for full opacity.

This is a perfect Spring colour and definitely a keeper! UK ladies keep a look out as I picked this up at the weekend from Poundland! Such a great bargain!

NOTD - Pretty and Polished Jawbreaker

Hey lovelies!

I apologise but my middle nail has broken on my right hand so left hand swatches only for a while I'm afraid! :-(

Today I am wearing one of my recent polishes from Pretty & Polished's Etsy store called "Jawbreaker". Jawbreaker is a franken polish and is a white based polish filled with large blue hexagon, large red square, small blue, gold and red hexagons, green bar, tiny purple round glitters.

For this manicure I firstly applied one coat of OPI's "Alpine Snow" a white creme for my base. I then used two coats of Jawbreaker over the top application was fantastic the only issue I had was that I struggled to get any large red square glitter out of my bottle and I only managed to get one out in the end. I cannot believe how much my nails really do resemble the candy "Jawbreakers" ... I almost want to eat them!!! The photos I took do not do it enough justice because it was dull in the morning when I took them but in the sunlight my nails are so shiny and really look like candy!

I love this polish and can definitely recommend it.

Weekend Nail Haul and Nail Mail

Hey Lovelies!

Well the inevitable has finally happened - I broke my middle nail right down below the smile line on my right hand this morning :( so today I bring you a new type of post other than swatches I am going to show you what I bought at the weekend and what I received in today's mail.

So late last week and this weekend I ventured to Poundland after a tip-off that they had been selling Sally Hansen Salon Manicure polishes in the newer bottles. I was desperate to locate some and am so glad I did, look what I found ...

L-R - Casting Call, Eel Skin, Barracuda, Camelia, Delphinium, First Kiss and Model Behaviour. They are all cremes and I cannot wait to try them out - I am still in shock at how cheap they are as they are usually about £6.99 each!

Also, whilst in Poundland I also stumbled across these little beauties ...

L-R - Revlon Top Speed Metallic 860, Revlon Topspeed Stormy 820, Revlon Touch of Mauve 100 and Revlon Craving Coral 902. What a bargain considering Revlon's usually retail at £6.99 too!

Also, at the weekend I bought H&M's "Blue My Mind" which looks so gorgeous in the bottle and from swatches online, Blue My Mind cost £2.99 and I think I shall be wearing this very soon! Also, today I received my Pretty&Polished polishes that I bought from the store on Etsy. These are custom franken polishes and the ones I chose were "Jawbreaker", Chelsea Chelsea Bling Bling" and "Party on my Yacht". I cannot tell you how excited I am try these out they look so amazing!! The bottles are so cute!

Ok, so last but not least ... once I heard about the new Nails Inc gift and then once I saw it I thought it was just too cute to pass up. I knew I wanted a back up bottle of Baker Street so took the plunge and placed an order. I also purchased a trio gift set and some other gifts for swaps
(not shown). The free gift consisted of a cute neon skull cosmetic bag which is also neon orange lined and I really like the quality too! Also, a Skull nail file and two full size polishes:- "Sumner Place" and "Wellington Square". On the bottom row pictured are:- "Baker Street", "Henrietta Street", "Eagle Street" and "Chalk Farm". I had to spend £35 to qualify for the free gift and there were a few other options to choose from.

After collecting all of these polishes together to take photos I never realised I had bought so many in such a short space of time and now I am presented with a dilemma of which one to try first? Any help or preference of which ones you would like to see?

Do you like to see nail haul posts as I am considering whether to post more in future? x

NOTD - Pink and Nude Manicure

Morning Lovelies and Happy Mother's Day to all you amazing mother's!

For today's manicure I wanted to do something a bit different and something that involved pink because it's Mother's Day and I am a very proud mummy to my beautiful baby daughter "Alexis" who is a little over 8 months old!

Recently I saw the gorgeous neon and nude manicures on the Nails Inc facebook page and have since been wanting to try it out for myself and so I have. For today's manicure I used Nails Inc's "Basil Street" a nude beige creme. The consistency of the polish seemed quite thin and watery to me and so for the second coat I deliberately applied a thicker coat to achieve full opacity. Once this had dried I applied by freehand Max Factor's Nailfinity "Disco Pink" a hot pink creme for the French tips. I applied two coats not that it needed it but just my tips weren't all that even after one and so I tried to perfect them with a second layer. Unfortunately I was a little impatient waiting for the tips to dry before I applied the topcoat and so smudged some of the pink into the nude but it isn't too noticeable in real life.

I am really happy with this manicure and can't wait to try a nude base with Baker Street for the French tips.

NOTD - Happy St Patrick Day - Jordana Cosmic

Happy St Patrick's Day Lovelies!

Today I am recycling yesterday's mani which was Barry M's "Spring Green" a bright green creme (please see previous post). On top of Spring Green I applied two coats of Jordana Glitters "Cosmic" which is a clear base polish packed full of micro blue glitter, medium blue, green and silver hexagon glitters. This applied really well no specific glitter placement issues as at two coats on a green base coverage was quite full. This was so much more glittery and shiny than I could photograph.

Barry M Spring Green is available in the UK from Boots and Superdrug at £2.99. Jordana Glitters Cosmic is available in the US $1.49 - $2.99 very reasonable. I got some in a swap so expect to see more swatches soon!

A perfect St Paddy's Day mani. Hope you have a good one!

NOTD - St Patrick Day Manicure - Barry M Spring Green

Good Morning Lovelies!

Today I am wearing Barry M's "Spring Green". I chose to wear this colour ahead of St Patrick's Day which is tomorrow as I shall be layering another polish over it for my official St Patrick's Day manicure!

Spring Green is basically as it says on the bottle a gorgeous bright spring green creme polish. It is a great formula and took just two coats for full opacity. No matter what I did this colour would just not photograph right. In the photos below it looks pea green but it is a bit darker and a much nicer shade in real life.

This is one of the very few greens that I own and I do really do like it's just a shame I can't show the true colour on the photographed swatches below :-(

I will be layering a glitter polish over for tomorrow's mani so be sure to come back then! In the meantime, hope you have a great St Paddy's weekend!!!

NOTD - Fingerpaints Twisted

Hey Lovelies!

Today I am wearing an angled French manicure inspired by the awesome Fingerpaints half moon mani I saw on "liquidjelly.blogspot.com" blog. So for this manicure I used one coat of OPI's "In The Spotlight Pink" which is a sheer milky pale pink polish perfect for French manicures! On top I painted diagonally freehand one coat of China Glaze's "Liquid Leather" for the angled tip. Once all had dried I then painted over the angled tip with one coat of OPI's "I Lily Love You" which is a gorgeous glitter flakie polish and then once that had dried I used one coat of Fingerpaints "Twisted" which is a flakie made up of many different colours (truly gorgeous!)

I really love the effect on the tips and shall definitely be trying out different ways of using this combination of polishes together in the future! To me these are great simple party nails and I really am pleased with how they turned out!

NOTD - Zoya Sooki

Good morning lovelies!

Today I am wearing Zoya's "Sooki". Sooki is a bright classic red creme. The formula on this is amazing, applies like butter and is opaque in just one coat, however, I still applied two more out of habit than anything else! Also Sooki is super shiny even without topcoat!

Such a stunning red polish and I think I can safely say that Sooki has now claimed the no.1 spot for my reds!

NOTD - Tiger Print Nails - Nails Inc Mayfair Mews

Good afternoon lovelies!

So for today's manicure I have simply recycled my previous manicure (please see previous post) which was two coats of Nails Inc's "Mayfair Mews" a bright neon coral/orange. Using this as my base colour I then decided to have a go at some more stamping. I chose the zebra/tiger print design from Konad's M57 plate as I thought black stripes on top of an orange base would look like tiger print. I used Konad's special black polish for the stamping and then printed on to my nails!

I am really pleased with the outcome and got a lot of comments on this manicure! Unfortunately the neon base wasn't so bright as I think the black seemed to dull it out.

I will definitely be trying this print out again in future with different variations for a base colour!
