NOTD - China Glaze "Fifth Avenue"

ON WEDNESDAY'S WE WEAR PINK

Hey lovelies!

As it's Wednesday I have chosen a pink from my un-trieds. It was an easy decision for me as I bought this at the beginning of January from EBay because I had been lusting after this sort of colour for so long! Well here I bring to you China Glaze's "Fifth Avenue". It is a dusty pink creme (super beautiful!) in daylight and indoors in artificial dim light it sort of reminds me of Essie's "Very Structured" leaning towards a brown shade. I had no application issues and it took two coats to reach opacity and dries very shiny so you could forgo the topcoat!

I absolutely adore this shade of colour and think it is very elegant!

NOTD - Revlon Facets of Fuscia

Hello there lovelies!

Today I am wearing Revlon's Facets of Fuscia which I have already worn as a tape mani and a pedi but not blogged about it so thought today I would as it is one of my favourites.

I bought my first bottle back in October and mentioned it in my October Favourite's post. I have a backup of this bottle as I love it so much! It is a dupe of Deborah Lippmann's "Bad Romance". I bought this from Boots and they are still selling it here in the UK but in the US they have re-named it as part of the permanent collection to "Scandalous".

The polish is a sheer black base with micro and medium size hexagon fuscia glitter throughout. I layered two coats of "Facets of Fuscia" over one coat of China Glaze's "Liquid Leather" (black creme). I love this nail polish it is very pretty!

Have you got this polish yet? What do you think?

NOTD - PCF Polka Dot Mani

Hey lovelies!

It's Friday once again and another post dedicated to the Purple Crumpet Fairy Group. This week's challenge is "Polka Dots" chosen by Lynica.

For this mani I recycled my previous mani which was No7's "Me! Me! Me!" (please see previous post) which is a hot pink creme. I used three coats to reach opacity. I used OPI's "Alpine Snow" which is a bright White creme for the polka dots. To do the polka dots I used a dotting tool and dipped into Alpine Snow and then dotted on my nails.

I absolutely love polka dots - transforms my plain nails into instant nail art and isn't too time consuming or difficult to achieve! I don't want to take off this mani <3 <3

NOTD - On Wednesday We Wear Pink - Boots No7 Me Me Me

Good evening lovelies!

As it's Wednesday I am of course wearing pink! This pink polish was a recent purchase from Boots RRP £7.00 (however, I used my £5 off No7 voucher so actually paid £2). I think vouchers run out on 29th Jan so if you haven't used yours already do so soon before they expire! The shade I chose was from the No7 Stay Perfect range and called "Me! Me! Me!" - it is a hot Barbie pink creme. It took three coats to reach opacity.

My nails have been screaming out Barbie all day!!!

NOTD - Max Factor Mini Cappuccino

Good morning lovelies!

Today I am wearing another British Nail Beauty which is Max Factor's "Cappuccino". This polish is new and part of the Spring 2012 Collection. It is a miniature nail polish (4.5ml) and costs £3.99 and is available from Superdrug and Boots. The polish is a pretty taupe creme and was almost a one coater but I used two. Unfortunately I encountered a few application issues such as flooding cuticles and also dragging. I am not sure if this was down to the miniature brush but I also found it hard to work with such a tiny brush. I do absolutely love the colour though as it reminds me of Zoya's "Jana" which I have done a post for before. I have done a bottle shot of both together and they are remarkably similar if I were to spot any difference I might think Cappuccino is slightly lighter in tone. If Jana is on your wishlist I think that Cappuccino would be a good substitute.

NOTD - PCF Glitterbomb - Deborah Lippmann Forget You

Hey lovelies!

It's time for another Friday challenge and this week's theme is "Glitterbomb" chosen by Abby.

I have so many untried glitters in my stash and eventually decided on using Deborah Lippmann's "Forget You" which was one of the trio of polishes in the Get This Party Started Gift Set that I purchased from House of Fraser.

Forget You is a black jelly based polish packed with multi-colour glitter (Happy Birthday in a black base). The glitter is made up of small and medium hexagon glitters with colours such as silver, blue, green, pink, orange, gold and red.

I used two coats to achieve full opacity and had no issues with application. I love this as the glitter on the first coats shows up through the black base and this gives a different look to just layering a glitter over a black which I think looks great!

NOTD - Max Factor Fantasy Fire

Hey lovelies!

Today I am wearing a new polish which has caused quite a hype over on PAA as it is said to be a dupe for Clarins 230 which is very hard to find!

The polish is Max Factor's "Fantasy Fire" which I first heard about via Pretty Digits' blog. In the bottle the colour is an indigo purple with red/gold/orange duochrome shimmer (please forgive me I'm no good at describing polishes of this nature) it's not often a duochrome or shimmer makes it on to my nails! Fantasy Fire is a new polish on the scene as part of Max Factor's Spring 2012 Collection. This is a teeny tiny bottle of 4.5ml and is priced at £3.99 available at both Boots and Superdrug.

Given the colour of this polish in the bottle the closest colour match amongst my stash was Barry M's "Indigo" which is a beautiful indigo blue/purple creme so I figured this would make a great base. The formula of Indigo was amazing and nearly a one coater, I used two coats to even it out and wow what can I say another Barry M beauty! I have posted some photos below of Barry M Indigo swatches. On top of Indigo I layered two coats of Fantasy Fire and the magic happened ... I fell in love with this combo! Absolutely super stunning! The orange shimmer sparkles amazingly and the indigo base of the two polishes just sets this on fire! Unfortunately my camera cannot capture the true beauty but I hope you can get an idea.

This is soooo gorgeous and going to be a huge hit amongst all of you lacquerheads - definitely a must have!

NOTD - Topshop Gypsy Night

Hey lovelies!

Today I am wearing another British Nail Beauty. This is the only Topshop nail polish I own. It has been on my wishlist for a while and my mum bought it for me from the Birmingham Bull Ring store at the weekend! It is called "Gypsy Night" and retails at £6 per 8ml bottle. It is available at selected Topshop stores and on the internet.

Gypsy Night is a sheer black base with small flakes of orange/gold glitter and tiny particles of holographic glitter. There are many colours to the glitter and it has great sparkle! Unfortunately the photos below do not do this polish enough justice it sparkles wonderfully in the light but this is difficult to capture with my camera. I layered one coat of Gypsy Night over one coat of China Glaze's "Liquid Leather" black creme polish so as not to have to build up too many layers of Gypsy Night. I love this polish and the bottle is too cute!

NOTD - Barry M Bright Red

Hey lovelies!

Ok so lately I have been thinking that I should post more swatches of UK brands and I am going to try my best to blog about one or more each week and I will title each post with "British Nail Beauties" so they are easy to find.

So to kick off with the British Nail Beauties I have decided to go with a colour from the Barry M range. Barry M is an inexpensive brand priced at £2.99 per piece and can be purchased from Superdrug, Boots, ASOS or the Barry M website.

Today I am wearing "Bright Red" and the colour is ... Yup your guessed it ... Bright red with a jelly/creme finish. It is super shiny even without topcoat. I was pleasantly surprised that this polish is a one coater, however, as it has a jelly tendency it was quite sheer meaning you could still see visible nail line. I used two coats so as to achieve full opacity but on close inspection there is still visible nail line but barely noticeable and I really do not mind as I love the squishy look! Absolutely no application issues it was just flawless! This was the first time I have tried this red and in comparison to my OPI's and Essie's I think this is just as good! I am a sucker for glossy reds and this has totally wowed me as I was not expecting this!

NOTD - PCF Nails Inspired By Favourite Jewellery

Hey lovelies!

Today I am participating in Purple Crumpet Fairy's Friday Challenge. The theme is "nails inspired by your favourite piece of jewellery" and was chosen by the lovely Joy.

I was really excited about this theme as I have plenty of jewellery to choose from but when it came down to it I ended up choosing one of my favourite rings which happened to be a simple design and I think I could have done better by using another piece of jewellery as this didn't push my nail art skills but I just simply didn't have the time.

For this mani I used Club's "New Bohemian" which is a mint green creme colour from the Back to Boho Collection 2011. I painted all fingers except for my ring finger which I used as my accent and decided to re-create my ring on. I used Barry M's "Silver Foil" and Andrea Fulerton's "Dot & Flick" nail art pen for the black lines.

This was so simple to re-create so didn't take much imagination. I could have done a lot better ... Maybe next time!

NOTD - Recycled Mani

Hey lovelies!

Today I am wearing my existing manicure Sally Hansen's "So Much Fawn" (please see previous post). I used two coats of the rusty pink creme. I loved this colour on it's own but wanted to experiment with a little nail art. I used Color Club's "Milky White Base Coat" as my second layer at the tips diagonally and used two coats. For the very ends of the tips I used Model's Own "Gold Rush" which is a very pigmented shimmery yellow gold.

I was a bit disappointed with this mani because I tried to do a tape mani but that didn't work out and then I wasn't too happy with the colour combination I chose but today in the daylight I am a lot happier with it . I absolutely adore the gold which is really striking and metallic looking and was bought for me as a gift by the lovely Carole. Thank you Carole!
